In times of catastrophe, life is paramount. But lives are often defined by possessions. After typhoon Ondoy we are forced to reconsider what we own. It is hard to let go of things, and yet we live on without them.

Typhoon Ondoy flooded a large portion national capital region of the Philippines, including Metro Manila, on September 26, 2009. A month’s worth of rainfall was dumped onto the populace in just a few hours, killing hundreds , displacing hundreds of thousands, and washing away so many precious things large and small.
